The leading digital health company Infermedica has finally announced that they received a Series A funding for its Artificial intelligence-based triage platform. The Poland based startup that offers AI for preliminary diagnosis and triage has raised more than $ 10 million in Series A funding. The funding round is led by the digital health fund Heal Capital and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). Along with the new investors, there are some active existing investors Karma Ventures, Dreamit Ventures, and Inovo Venture Partners that also participated.
As per reports, Infermedica says that the funding received will be used for research and development of the healthcare platform. The plans are to improve its uniqueness of triage and manage patient symptoms and examination to hold up scientific conclusions. With this funding, the digital health startup is also extending its plans to start operations in the United States and Germany. With this funding, the company has raised new capital of $ 15 million in total so far.
Infermedica company was founded in 2012 by CEO Piotr Orzechowski. The Poland based startup defines itself as an “AI-driven platform that is used for helping patients. The platform is available in various languages and can be customized that helps patient care and the stipulation of health services. As an overabundance of competitors, such as Babylon, Ada Health, and Your.MD, it unites the physicians’ knowledge with its algorithms to proffer AI-based triage and recommendation to patients.

There are various healthcare insurance companies are currently linked with this AI-based platform that includes Medis, Allianz, and Global Excel to help organize healthcare costs. The digital startup is also used by the hospital systems to recognize the importance of a patient’s folder and to bring together data proceeding to a hospital visit. As we know, artificial intelligence is used by various companies to boost customer experience.
For the time being, Infermedica has gained recognition in the marketplace and is making money by licensing its AI-driven technology to its B2B customers. The technology is connected with the SaaS model to check the number of API calls made by the patient.
