After a long series of rumours and leaks Google has finally announced the launch of its Pixel 5A smartphone that is ready to capture the market with enhanced display and battery life. However, the smartphone has not been lunched in India and Google has kept it exclusive for US and Japan and the phone will be available from 26th Aug onwards.
The Google Pixel 5a features a 6.34-inch display. It is slightly bigger than the 6.2-inch display found on the Pixel 4a 5G. However, it doesn’t support the fancy high refresh rates and is limited to a 60Hz refresh rate, which is quite boring by recent standards. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G SoC, paired with 6GB RAM and 128GB of storage. The RAM is on the lesser side when compared to the Pixel 5, which comes with 8GB of RAM.
The Pixel 5a sports a dual rear camera setup that consists of a 12.2MP primary sensor and a 16MP ultra-wide-angle lens. On the front lies an 8MP selfie shooter. You also get a physical fingerprint scanner at the rear of the device. Moreover, it comes with a 3.5mm audio jack. As for the battery, it packs a 4,680mAh cell, which is the largest-ever on a Pixel smartphone. It has support for 18W fast charging as well. The smartphone runs Android 11 out of the box.
