A web report of Dubai disclosed that Apple was fined by Brazil $2 million (almost 7.3 Dh million) for not offering a charger in iPhone 12 series smartphone boxes. It becomes a crucial part according to Apple’s point of view as this world tech giant restrict offering free charger with iPhone 12 smartphone series.
In the opinion of India Today, Brazilian buyers watchdog Procon-SP incriminated Apple of involving in misleading selling and promoting a device without adding on any charger on unfair terms. The regulator had announced to Apple the lacking of accessories given by the tech giant would decrease their smartphone’s price. However, Apple did not give any response to this declaration.
The Executive Director of Procon-SP, Fernando Capez, said that in Brazil, Apple requires to understand there are concrete user security laws and institutions prevailing. Capez has remarked that the organization must obey and respond to all institutions and laws in that country.
In October 2020, Apple had disclosed this all-new iPhone 12 series would not appear with any earbuds and a free charger. They have claimed that not making these accessories would be reduced to 2million metric tonnes of carbon, similar to detaching 450,000 vehicles in a year.
Lisa Jackson, the vice president of Apple said consumers were shifting power adapters with different methods of wireless charging. Hence, it was wasteful to infuse various adapters in those boxes. The organization is still commenting on the chargers of Procon-SP’s.
